a bit about me

Not just a doodle—I’m a real person too!

I was raised primarily in Houston, but moved to Los Angeles to complete my undergraduate degree in 2012, earning my B.A. in English and French from Loyola Marymount University in 2016.

Like any good millennial, I hopped around jobs after graduation—writing a few paid pieces, proofreading hundreds of pages, making thousands of lattes, and running countless errands. But I kept coming back to drawing, my childhood obsession. While doing my odd jobs, I started drawing again in earnest, finding freelance work as I could, with the goal of one day making it a real career.

I was lucky enough to land a job with a boutique stationer and design studio, where I learned the fundamentals of graphic design and fine paper production. In this role, I worked with everyone from celebrity couples, to new moms, to writers, to tech companies to craft distinct visual identities for rebrands and large events alike. Best of all, I got the opportunity to create a million special illustrations.

I moved to Portland to be nearer my family in August 2023, and in my spare time, I enjoy reading as much as I can, getting outside whether it’s raining or not, and making art with my nieces.
