Gusto Gift
This gargantuan project had our team of two designing, producing, and fulfilling over 1200 fully custom EOY gifts—including custom socks, packaging, and an entire book—for the company’s employees around the world. The brief was to work with gusto’s existing brand to create a package that would engage their fully remote new hires and delight board members and executives alike.

gusto's existing brand guide
We develop a complementary palette and type options. I introduce the loose, sketched "g" as a motif that will flow throughout the rest of the project.
For the final outer packaging, I layered bright abstract motifs with gusto's distinctive "g"—while we wanted it to be obvious that it was a gift from gusto, the design also had to feel special and stand on its own.
Since gusto is a company that supports small businesses, we decided to celebrate those businesses throughout the gift—starting with the puzzle. I pulled the doodling motif from the package design into the puzzle as well to unify the pieces, and included some company easter eggs throughout.
No gusto gift would be complete without custom socks, and this year's design brought in the bright and happy tones we'd chosen for the other items.
Planning the opening experience and inner layout
Early prototyping in the studio
We start to see the project come to life (we ultimately changed the inner packing material...that's what prototypes are for!)
Finally seeing the finished products
In the spirit of celebrating small business, we worked with one of our favorite local printshops to print and bind the books
So satisfying to see months of work in beautiful bound form
